Blaženka Despot

DESPOT, Blaženka (Zagreb, 1930 – Zagreb, 2001), philosopher, sociologist.

In 1954, she graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and in 1970 she received her doctoral degree from the University of Ljubljana with a thesis Humanity of Technical Society. From 1964 till 1970 she worked as a high school teacher. Afterwards she taught at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb. From 1989 till 1993 she worked at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb. In her work, she deals with themes of humanism, technics, feminism, new age, scientific progress and leisure.
